Competing with a Jaguar XJ40

Jaguar Enthusiasts Club 20th Anniversary Celebrations

Thoresby Hall, Sunday 6th June 2004

What a magnificent turnout of Jaguar cars! This event saw first use of the new tow car and trailer. This will allow the XJ40 to be further developed and lightened now that its road use duties are over.

The New Tow Car

Note the subtle use of Solent Blue on this car to match the racing '40! This X300 XJ Sport 3.2 with cream leather was acquired as a crash damaged economic write-off, and has been rebuilt to provide a replacement road car which will fulfill the duties previously undertaken by the XJ40, and to act as a tow car for the '40 to race meetings. Some finishing is still required, but the car is now structurally sound and should provide good service for a few years.

The XJ40 On Display

The '40 was displayed with a small selection of the diverse Jaguars, and Jaguar based vehicles, which take part with JEC Racing. The magnificent building which is Thoresby Hall can be seen in the background.
